With the touch of a button you can cycle through your time, NikeFuel earned, steps taken and calories burned. When you’ve reached your target the display shows a flashing “GOAL”. It’s a great way to encourage fitness – you don’t want to disappoint the band or yourself by not reaching your score tomorrow!
You can track your progress by wirelessly syncing your Nike+ FuelBand or plugging it directly into your computer’s USB port to sync and to charge. . It’s on full charge again after about an hour and lasts for three to four days before it’s running low.
When attached the your computers USB it will take you to the Nike Fuel Website where you can see how many goals you’ve hit, what your last seven days’ activity amounted to and how you compare to other people in your age group. The site is clear and concice, showing exactly when each day your exercise spiked. And it colour-codes how well you’ve been doing, from red through to green.
You can also sync your Fuelband Wirelessly through a mobile app where you can see the same data as on the website, though unfortunately it is only an iPhone app at the moment and there is no app currently available for Android or Windows 8.
The FuelBand has been designed well, a matt black rubber-coated bracelet with metallic clasp that can be lengthened using a spacer. The luminous display looks great and adds a great deal to make a funky and futuristic wristband that can be wore at all times without looking silly.
Unfortunately the fuelband is only splash proof, not waterproof meaning you can’t take it swimming.
With the temporary demise of the Jawbone Up, the Nike+ fuelband is probably the most fashionable and functional tracker on the market at the moment.
